Salal Berry Jam

The following jam recipe was improvised based on reading several online jam recipes and speaking to several individuals about the process of making jam. In particular, I have used 75% less sugar than most recipes call for. Considering it was the first attempt at making jam in my life, the Salal Berry jam turned out quite nicely with a good flavour and consistency.
Salal Berry Jam
1 cup Salal Berries
1/4 cup Roger's Organic Sugar
1/2 cup water
Mash berries in a bowl. Mix with sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a rolling boil. Keep boiling for a few minutes. The jam will thicken upon cooling.
